Dalam rangka memanfaatkan Teknologi Informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) bagi para siswa khususnya Internet secara Sehat dan Aman (INSAN), Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Diskominfo) Kabupaten Cirebon Khususnya bidang Aplikasi dan Telematika (APTEL) baru-baru ini melakukan monitoring internet sehat dan aman ke sekolah-sekolah yang ada di Kabupaten Cirebon. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga dimaksudkan untuk memberikan pemahaman UU RI Nomor 11 Tahun 2008 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik.
Sebanyak 108 sekolah baik SMP maupun SMA/SMK dilakukan monitoring. Dalam pelaksanaannya Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Kabupaten Cirebon melakukan monitoring yang terbagi dalam 3 tim yaitu Tim 1, 2 dan Tim 3. Masing-masing mendapat tugas monitoring 3 sekolah setiap harinya. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mempercepat waktu pelaksanaan.
Adapun jadwal pelaksaanya dilakukan pada hari Senin 01/05/2012 Tim 1 yang dipimpin Drs.Eris Suhendi melakukan monitoring ke SMPN 1 Plumbon, SMK Manbaul Ulum Dukupuntang dan SMK Ulil Albab Plumbon, sementara Tim 2 yang dipimpin Drs. Sonson M Ichsan melakukan monitoring SMP N 2 Sumber, SMA PGRI Plumbon dan SMA YAPISA Dukupuntang. Sedangkan Tim 3 yang dipimpin Eri Susanto, S.IP.,M.Eng melakukan monitoring ke SMP AL Washliyah, MTsS AL Ishlah Bobos dan SMA ITB Kramat. Monitoring ini akan berlanjut sampai semua sekolah benar-benar tercover.
Kepala Bidang Aplikasi dan Telematika (APTEL) Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Kabupaten Cirebon yang kami wawancarai menyampaikan dengan kegiatan ini diharapkan dengan monitoring ini sebagai bentuk responsibility/tanggung jawab Diskominfo secara kelembagaan dan fungsional memberikan pelayanan informasi yang seluas-luasnya kepada masyarakat khususnya para pelajar di Kabupaten Cirebon supaya bisa memanfaatkan teknologi informasi secara benar dan bermanfaat. Selain itu diharapkan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap dampak-dampak negatif seperti pornografi, cyber bullying (mengganggu/mengejek), phising (pengelabuan), carding (pencurian lewat kartu kredit), pemerasan, penipuan, perjudian, viruses, dan kejahatan-kejahatan lainnya dapat diminimalisasi.
Selanjutnya Diskominfo mengharapkan peran serta orang tua siswa agar memantau penggunaan HP terhadap putra/putri nya agar tidak disalahgunakan. Peran serta Sekolah dalam membina siswa/siswinya diharapakan pengawasan secara rutin dan kontinyu.
