Sekretaris Daerah Kabupaten Cirebon, H. Dudung Mulyana, M.Si pada Selasa (13/11/2012) di gedung Islamic Centre, mengadakan Sosialisasi Mangrove yang dihadiri 120 orang terdiri dari para Camat, Kuwu, LSM dan masyakarat di lingkungan pantai.
Dalam sambutannya, Sekda menyampaikan bahwa abrasi merupakan salah satu penyebab kerusakan ekosistem di pantai sehingga pantai yang ada di kawasan Kabupatren Cirebon sering terjadi pendangkalan. Dengan adanya hal tersebut dipandang perlu pantai-pantai yang ada di Kabupaten Cirebon kita perbaiki, sehingga tidak merugikan masyarakat Kabupaten Cirebon dan melestarikan serta menjaga ekosistem yang ada di pantai. Sosialisasi ini juga bertujuan agar dapat menumbuhkan rasa sayang terhadap kelestarian dan keberlangsungan hidup ekosistem yang ada di pantai, hingga terjaga dan terhindar dari kerusakan, kepunahan dan pengikisan garis pantai.
Kegiatan tersebut dilanjutkan dengan pembedahan materi dari nara sumber kepada para kuwu dan pejabat pemerintah yang ada di kecamatan khususnya daerah pinggir pantai.
