Ribuan warga rame mengunjungi Pondok Buntet Pesantren baik dari sekitar Desa Mertapada Kecamatan Astana japura yang masih berada dalam wilayah Kabupaten Cirebon, pada Sabtu malam Minggu ( 5/4/2014 ). Warga yang sangat antusias menyaksikan acara haul ini berdatangan bukan hanya dari wilayah Kabupaten Cirebon. Pondok Buntet Pesantren yang merupakan salah satu pondok yang sudah terkenal ini banyak sekali para santri yang belajar bukan hanya dari Pulau Jawa, jadi tidak heran disaat acara haul Pondok Buntet Pesantren berdatangan para wali santri yang sengaja hadir pada acara haul tersebut ini merupak momentum yang sangat baik untuk dijadikan ajang silahturrahmi antar para wali santri.
Sementara itu acara seremonial yang digelar mualai pukul 20 00 WIB digelar bertempat dihalaman Masjid Agung Pondok Buntet Pesantren dihadiri juga oleh pejabat baik dari Pemerintah Pusat maupun daerah. Seperti halnya pada acara haul kali ini dihadiri oleh Mentri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian Republik Indonesia Bapak Ir.H. Muhammad Hatta Radjasa, sementara pada saat sambutannya menyampaikan bahwa Pesantren adalah sistem intelektual yang mencerdaskan sumber daya manusia yang memberikan pendidikan sehingga mampu menjawab berbagai tantangan bangsa ini dan sekaligus mampu menjawab tantangan peradaban dunia dan merupakan sistem se piritual pendidikan yang tidak ada ditempat lain Kalau kita gabungkan ketiga sistem ini pondok pesantren akan menciptakan manusia-manusia unggul.oleh karena itu sampai kapan pun beliu akan tetap mendukung adanya pondok-pondok pesantren yang ada di Indonesia.
Dan acara dilanjutkan dengan sambutan dari Bapak Bupati Cirebon Bapak Drs. H. Sunjaya Purwadi Sastra MM.MSI, dalam sambutannya menyampaikan bahwa Pondok pesantren merupakan peninggalan dari para leluhur kita, maka wajib dilestarikan dan juga merupakan salah satu tempat pendidikan yang mampu mencetak sumber daya manusia yang tangguh, sehingga mampu melahirkan pemimpin-pemimpin yang berakhalak mulia.
Acara haul kali ini sekaligus juga di rangkai dengan pelantikan Ikatan Keluarga Alumni Buntet Pesantren ( IKLAB ) Periode 2014-2017. diketuai oleh KH.DR.Manarul Hidayat. Harapan adanya IKLAB. Yaitu melakukan pembinaan, perkembangan dan pendayagunaan potensi alumni untuk segala aspek ; membantu mensyi’arkan cita-cita leluhur Buntet Pesantren secara berkesinambungan; melakukan Iktiar berlakunya ajaran Islam Faham Ahlisunnah wal jama’ah ditengah-tengah kehidupan bermasyarakat dalam wadah Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia, berdasarkan Pancasila dan UUD 1945. Acara diakhiri siraman rohani ( (Yons diskominfo)
