Dalam rangka memperingati hari lahirnya Nabiyullah Muhammad SAW, masyarakat Gegesik mengadakan arak-arakan panjang jimat sebagai tradisi masyarakat Gegesik, Selasa (29/01/2013).
Hadir para sesepuh masyarakat Gegesik, kaum adat, Pejabat Pemda Kabupaten Cirebon, Muspika Kecamatan Gegesik, Kuwu se-Kecamatan Gegesik, masyarakat desa sekitar, juga wisatawan lokal dari Kabupaten Indramayu, Subang, Kuningan, kota Cirebon serta Majalengka.
Ketua pelaksana Pelalan, Kaur Kesra Desa Gegesik Lor, Tarman, mengatakan acara tradisi masyarakat Gegesik mengarak pusaka berupa Gruda adalah adat istiadat para sesepuh masyarakat Gegesik secara turun menurun yang setiap tahunnya merupakan agenda tahunan yang dilaksanakan setiap tanggal 17 Maulid Nabi dan kegiatan tersebut merupakan puncak acara peringatan maulid nabi.
Dari rangkaian acara tersebut sebelumnya dilaksanakan berbagai kegiatan diantaranya bakti sosial, khitanan massal, ceramah keagamaan serta kegiatan-kegiatan lainnya yang berkaitan dengan keagamaan. Kegiatan tersebut juga mementaskan berbagai kesenian tradisional dengan tujuan melestarikan kebudayaan daerah yang bisa dijadikan duta seni bagi bangsa khususnya Kabupaten Cirebon.
Kegiatan tersebut diakhiri dengan doa bersama untuk memohon kepada Allah SWT agar kita semua diberikan berkah dan rahmat serta dapat selamat baik di dunia maupun akhirat nanti. Pada malam harinya, pukul 20.00 WIB diadakan pesta kembang api.
