Mapag Sri : Melestarikan Adat Istiadat Leluhur dengan Harapan Tercipta Swasembada Pangan

3Rabu 04, Maret 2015 telah berlangsungnya acara Mapag Sri di Desa Karang Malang, Kecamatan Karangsembung, Kabupaten Cirebon.  Bupati Cirebon, Drs. H. Sunjaya Purwadisastra MM, MSi, secara simbolis melakukan pemotongan padi, sebagai tanda dimulainya panen raya.

Bupati Cirebon yang didampingi oleh Kepala Dinas Pertanian, Dedi Nurul dan Camat Karangsembung, Indra Fitryani, langsung menuju di tengah-tengah sawah tersebut, dengan diiringi kesenian tradisional seperti tarian Mapag Sri dan tembang pengiring panen raya untuk melakukan simbolis pemotongan padi.

Bupati Cirebon Drs. H. Sunjaya Purwadisastra, MM, M.Si mengatakan dalam sambutannya akan terus mengajak masyarakat petani untuk meningkatkan wilayah lumbung padi khususnya diwilayah Cirebon Timur ini, juga menjaga tradisi kegiatan mapag sri yang harus tetap dilestarikan dan dijaga nilai kearifan lokalnya, kerena selain wujud syukur, juga merupakan pelestarian budaya dan aset asli daerah Kabupaten Cirebon. Ada sekitar 53 seni asli budaya lokal di Kabupaten Cirebon, maka dengan itu kita wajib berperan dalam rangka menghidupkan kembali seni budaya kearifan lokal, Kalau bukan kita yang lestarikan siapa lagi. Tahun ini kami mencetak kurang lebih 50 hektare pertanian yang dipatenkan khusus lahan produktif pesawahan di Kabupaten Cirebon.

Hal serupa dikatakan Camat Karangsembung, Indra Fitryani, dirinya berharap Desa Karang Malang, menjadi pelopor pelestarian budaya kearifan lokal dan dirinya juga akan mencanangkan kegiatan tersebut ke seluruh desa di Kecamatan Karangsembung, karena Karangsembung menjadi pusat pertanian.

Kegiatan tersebut diakhiri dengan pengarakan pengantin padi dari lahan pesawahan menuju Balai Desa Karangmalang Kecamatan Karangsembung. (edys/fais,Diskominfo)(04/03/2015)
