Pada Senin, 9 Juli 2012 berlangsung orientasi terhadap 101 peserta anggota BPD dari 9 Kecamatan yaitu kecamatan Astanajapura, Ciledug, Ciwaringin, Gebang, Gunung Jati, Kaliwedi, Lemahabang, Pangenan dan Kecamatan Susukan Lebak, bertempat di hotel Bagus Inn Cirebon.
Dalam laporannya, Kepala Bidang Pemdes dan Kelurahan Badan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Pemerintahan Dessa (BPMPD) Kabupaten Cirebon, Drs. Yadi Wikarsa, M.Si menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pelayanan terhadap masyarakat desa dan juga meningkatkan peran BPD sebagai mitra kerja masyarakat pemerintahan desa.
Sementara itu, Kepala BPMPD, Drs. H. Rahmat Sutrisno, M.Si dalam sambutan Bupati Cirebon menyampaikan bahwa beliau mendukung pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dan berharap agar diresapi sehingga menambah perluasan wawasan dan pengetahuan bagi anggota BPD sehingga mampu melahirkan kinerja yang maksimal yang mendorong aktifitas administrasi dan pelayanan bagi masyarakat semakin meningkat.
