Pesatnya Perkembangan Teknologi Informasi dirasakan oleh masyarakat luas, secara baik Individual maupun dunia usaha sehingga diperlukan kesadaran dan tanggung jawab yang tinggi bagi pengguna Frekwensi Radio yang pada akhirnya nanti akan berdampak positip bagi masyarakat. untuk hal tersebut Balai Monitror Spektrum Frekuensi Radio Kelas II Bandung pada tanggal 8 Mei 2014 mengadakan Sosialisasi Manajemen Spektrum Frekuensi Radio bertempat di Hotel Aston, jalan Bypass Cirebon.
Ketua pelaksana kegiatan Dra.Tri Esti Handayani melaporkan bahwa Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan wawasan kepada insan pengguna frekuensi radio tentang manfaat, bahaya dan perizinan penggunaan frekuensi radio.
Sosialisasi manajemen Spektrum Frekuensi radio diikuti oleh 120 orang dari pengguna frekuensi radio dengan tujuan untuk peningkatan wawasan dan pengetahuan bagi para pengguna frekuensi radio, sehingga pada pelaksanaannnya tidak akan berbenturan satu sama lainnya, juga untuk menghindari bahaya bagi manusia yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan frekuensi radio yang tidak beraturan.
Kegiatan ini dihadirkan nara sumber dari jajaran Direktorat Jendral Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Telekomunikasi, jajaran Balai Monitor Spektrum Frekuensi Radio Kelas II Bandung dan Penyidik Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PPNS) Jawa Barat.
Dr. Deny Setiawan, M.Si mewakili Dirjen SPPI (Dirjen Sumber Daya, Perangkat Pos dan Telekomunikasi ) pada pembukaan sosialisasi tersebut mengatakan bahwa diantaranya dengan masuknya negara kita menjadi peringkat ke 10 dunia pembangunan di Bidang Keuangan dan Teknologi Informasi tentunya kita sebagai insan pengguna frekuensi radio wajib hukumnya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan serta wawasan dalam penggunaan frekuensi radio, sehingga masyarakat luas dapat memanfaatkan Pembangunan Teknoilogi Informasi secara aman, mudah serta tanpa effek samping. Pembangunan Tata Laksana Informasi tentunya akan melibatkan berbagai unsur baik seeara individual, kelompok maupun badan usaha yang bergerak di bidang tata informasi. Penggunaan Spektrum Frekuensi Radio yang tidak beraturan akan menimbulkan berbagai bahaya khususnya bagi penerbangan, kelautan serta bagi manusia itu sendiri. Untuk mengurangi bahaya yang ditimbulkan oleh akibat penyalagunaan spektrum frekuensi radio diperlukan wawasan serta pengetahuan tentang penggunaan frekuensi radio, tata cara perizinan dan hukuman yang ditimbulkan akibat penyalahgunaan frekuensi radio .
Pada kesempatan tersebut juga dilaksanakan diskusi panel yang dipimpin oleh Ketua Balai Monitor Spektrum Frekuensi Radio Drs. Herkhules, M.Si dengan topik Peningkatan Sumber Daya Manusia pengguna frekuensi radio dalam rangka mengurangi bahaya yang ditimbulkan atas kelalaian penggunaan spektrum frekuensi radio .
Hadir pada kesempatan tersebut jajaran Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Telekomunikasi, jajaran Balai Monitor Spektrum Frekuensi radio kelas II bandung, Dinas terkait se-Wilayah III Cirebon, dan pengguna Frekuensi radio .
